How to write a Catholic/Christian/Religious post

Unlike most post where they debate on issues and try to understand their faith, I have decided to have a post on how to write a Catholic/Christian/Religious post. And no, I do not have a lot of free time. Here, I will give you step-by-step instructions on how to post religiously without being massacred online. (Facebook users, if you're really not interested, this is your cue to look away.)

Step 1: GET A TOPIC STATEMENT
Well, you need to have something to discuss about! So, think of something thought-provoking. Check out other religious blogs. If you like, you may steal information from my extremely faithful Christian friend Nevin, who amazingly got his post on Revelife headlines.

(Nev, if you're reading this. I hope you don't mind :)
Don't worry if your statement is too wide and don't worry about writing about how you feel. If people feel the same way, they will comment and support you. If people have questions, they will comment hoping you will comment back. If people feel strongly that what you have written in complete and utter nonsense, take deep breaths and hope they DON'T comment. If they do, avoid slamming back 'cause God prolly doesn't want that.

Step 2: DO YOUR RESEARCH
Skim through the bible (or other religious text if you're of other religion) and give some quotes. This is not Literature class so you don't need to kill your readers with overly sophisticated words or immensely deep language (obviously, God doesn't want vulgaries or his name in vain). If possible, state the chapter where you're quote is from. That way, the readers may check it out if they want to if they're interested.

Step 3: RELATE IT TO PEOPLE
People don't want to see another religious post that doesn't apply to them so it is good to show how the matter applies our daily lives. Nevin speaks about judging others by the clothes they wear in his post and that applies to most of us. That way, readers can relate and in the confort and isolation of their homes they will go, "Yeah! That is SO TRUE!". That will make people ponder about what you have written.

Step 4: HAVE A MESSAGE
It may not always be present but having a message behind should the main focus of most religious post. Most religious post simply want closure or a summary of a pressing matter. Feuds can start and end on issues happening in the world and there will always be something one can learn from a religious text. However, if you post on how you feel about something, there might not be a message.

Step 5: ENJOY WHAT YOU DO
Unless you are graded or held at gunpoint to write a religious post, be creative and have fun. It's how you feel, how you react, what you think so don't let some one else influence you. Furthermore, you have the choice on what to do in your post.

In the end, YOU have the power to decide what you want to do with your faith.
